Merry Christmas Everyone!

As I was just writing the title for this post I was reminded of a children's book called "Merry Christmas Mom and Dad". Remember it? If not- sorry for you. :)
Anyway- it's that time of year again, and I hope that by now you are all finished with your shopping, have all your Christmas trimmings up, and have had at least one cup of hot chocolate.
Hunter called me a couple of days ago to invite me to his 4th grade Christmas Program. Very cute. Here are a few pictures:

Dancing in the Rain

I went to a meeting at work this afternoon where they played a little clip about gratitude. I liked it, and thought I would share it with the people I am most grateful for- my family! :) It is short- only about 3 min. Enjoy!

Parker for President!

I was sitting on the couch at Denise's house this morning waiting for Parker to take him over to Hunter's house for a sleep-over when the phone rang. Parker answered, and it was his mom. Now, if you have ever been on the other side of a telephone conversation with Parker, you know that one word answers are about all you can hope for. However- today he must have been exploding with ideas that just needed an outlet. I caught onto the phenomenon of his jabbering just in time to tune into his conversation taking the path of "If I was the President..."
This is Denise's account of what he said:

I called home from work and talked to Parker. He started talking about how he wishes he could have more sleepovers with Hunter and somehow ended up telling me what he would do if he were President. First, he would change things so that school only happened on Thursdays and Fridays. That way his after school robotics class on Fridays would come sooner. It would also give kids a chance to play with their friends, learn a little bit, and spend more time with their families. He would also be able to have more sleepovers with Hunter. He said that I would only have to work if I wanted to, because money is not all that important. It’s just paper anyway, so we would all use coins instead. This would also save trees from being cut down and we would have more oxygen for the Earth. He also said that if anyone saw people using drugs or drinking beer, they should call 911 so that the police could arrest them for 2 years, because that is how long it takes to not be addicted anymore. Before they could leave the police would put some beer in a glass and see if the person drank it. If they did they would have to stay longer until they weren’t addicted anymore. It would be better for everyone that way. I love the way his mind works!!

World Problems?.. SOLVED! ha ha ha

Back to Shcool

It's that time of year again, and the kids are all heading back to school. I have not spoken to all of the rug-rats yet, but those that I have seem to be okay with the teachers they have and the friends that are in their classes. :) I also want to put in a little note of gratitude here for the parentals:
I wish that I had someone now who would wake me up in the morning, take me shopping AND pay for my purchases. Took it for granted- sorry. I am sure that you have seven kids who would be willing to sacrifice their time in order for you to take us shopping so that we can be sure to say thank you! ;) ha ha ha
Good luck to all the munchkins going back and I hope you all have an amazing year!!!

Vegas baby! :)

Dad and Marilyn were nice enough to take Denise and I to see Love at The Mirage in Las Vegas for graduation. We had a great time and LOVED the show. :) It is cirque du soleil set completely to the music of the Beatles. Denise and I both agree that it was a little like a two hour acid trip. he he he I would so recommend it to anyone.
Thanks guys! We loved our gift, and had a wonderful time with you guys!!

Even the hallway into the theater was cool! :)

GRADUATION

Guess who's finally graduating? Both Denise and Dawney (and we are both VERY MUCH looking forward to it!!!) The fun-filled morning of listening to boring people that you don't know speak about stuff nobody really cares about will be May 1st for Dawney (You're announcement will come in the mail soon), and August 13th or 14th for Denise-- more info to come as we know it there.

President Monson is the speaker at mine, and you are more than welcome to be more motivated to come hear him speak than to see me get my degree. ;0).
The plan is to go out to eat after all is said and done if you would like to, but no pressure!

Thanks for putting up with "School Aunt Dawney" (as Peanut calls me) while I've been in school- and letting me stay in the family even when I was stressed and mean. Love you all!
